Following the success of his first location, Ilias Pappas, owner of Athenian Grill returned to NOMI Design for the design of his second Lexington location. Our design challenge was bringing the modern yet rustic, Greek character from his original location in an historic carriage house to this former Italian restaurant in a suburban shopping center.

To manage cost we left the existing layout, floor and ceiling in place but introduced custom fabrication pieces along with materials and colors from the original location. We researched traditional, Greek architectural and decorative elements and abstracted them to create an environment that references Ilias’ culture in a current and sophisticated way.
