In Phase I of this project NOMI partnered with Dunbar to repurpose a single computer room into ganged restrooms. The restroom included ten plumbing fixtures along with drinking fountains and required floor drains and hose bibbs. Electrical work to support the restroom addition included lighting, power receptacles, and fire alarm work in the restrooms as well as in the remainder of the computer room. HVAC work was included in the new restrooms.

Building upon our firm’s previous work at the Dunbar Community Center, this project represents a continued investment in the revitalization and modernization of the facility. The current phase focused on comprehensive renovations to the first-floor program areas, including upgraded fitness rooms, a conference room, game rooms, sound room, and a dedicated e-sports space. Both primary lobbies and all associated circulation areas were also reimagined to improve wayfinding, accessibility, and overall user experience. The design emphasizes flexibility, durability, and contemporary finishes while supporting the Center’s mission to serve as a vibrant, inclusive hub for community engagement and recreation.
